Portals of Hope

Portales de Esperanza (Portals of Hope) is a Not for Profit organization which assists children and families living in poverty by providing food, housing, scholarships, school supplies, and counseling to neglected, abandoned, and orphaned children. We are currently helping children and families in multiple communities in Guatemala, including Antigua, Cantel, Coatepeque, Quetzaltenango (Xela), and San Cristobal Totonicapán.

There are hundreds of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) engaged in meeting the needs of Guatemalans living in poverty. NGO Projects target education, social justice, health, nutrition, and many other programs. Two characteristics set Portales de Esperanza apart from other NGOs:

We live and work year-round and directly with the children and families we serve.
Our mission and vision are commitments to whole communities, helping individuals and families change their futures and spreading the change to others.
